Our Client is seeking a Direct Support Professional to become apart of the team for their Community-Base Day Support Program in Wareham, MA!

About the Role

We're looking for compassionate, motivated, and community-focused Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Community-Based Day Supports (CBDS) team. In this role, you'll empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by helping them build independence, develop employment skills, participate in meaningful community activities, and work toward competitive employment.

As a CBDS DSP, you'll provide individualized support while fostering personal growth, confidence, and community inclusion. Every day is different as you help individuals explore career interests, learn new skills, volunteer, access community resources, and achieve their personal goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in achieving greater independence and community inclusion.

  • Assist individuals in exploring career interests and developing vocational skills.

  • Conduct vocational assessments and help identify each individual's strengths, interests, and abilities.

  • Facilitate community-based activities that build confidence, life skills, and employment readiness.

  • Provide transportation to community activities, volunteer opportunities, employment sites, and appointments using an agency or personal vehicle.

  • Implement Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals and accurately document progress.

  • Develop meaningful community experiences, including:

    • Career exploration

    • Workplace tours

    • Informational interviews

    • Volunteer opportunities

    • Job clubs

    • Travel training

    • Health and wellness activities

    • Job readiness and soft skills development

  • Support individuals in resume building, interview preparation, workplace communication, time management, and other employment skills.

  • Identify and address barriers to employment while helping individuals achieve their employment goals.

  • Network with employers, community organizations, and volunteer sites to create meaningful opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate electronic documentation, daily notes, billing records, and case files.

  • Communicate regularly with families, guardians, residential staff, employers, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Promote the health, safety, dignity, rights, and confidentiality of all individuals served.

  • Utilize Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) strategies and provide support to individuals with behavioral challenges when necessary.

  • Follow all agency policies, procedures, and funding source regulations.

Schedule and Pay:

  • Monday-Friday

  • 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

  • $18-$21 per hour

Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or a related population

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Reliable transportation

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team
