Job Description

Part-Time Driver SUMMARY:Our client In Fall River is looking for a driver to help with the loading and unloading of cargo and delivery. If you’re looking for a way to make some extra money and you have an active DOT card, this job may be for you!Responsibilities:
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks
  • Ensure that cargo is safely and responsibly loaded onto truck and secured appropriately before operating vehicle.
  • Deliver product and handle all paperwork related to assigned deliveries including signatures
  • Maintain required logs of driving activities.
  • Monitor the performance and maintenance of company owned vehicles (truck, van) and recommend maintenance and repair as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance duties, including but not limited to:
  • Monitoring and maintaining fuel and fluid levels
  • Interior and exterior maintenance of vehicles (Vacuuming, trash disposal daily)
  • Shoveling around vehicles
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (both professional and personal) is an ongoing requirement of this position.
  • Active DOT Medical card is an ongoing requirement of this position.
  • Moderate oral communication skills and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and concisely with drivers, customers, supervisors, and team members
  • Ability to maintain and generate accurate records
  • Ability to maintain required written logs and maintenance records
  • Basic reading/writing (in English) and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass OSHA compliant forklift safety test and a skills test to drive a forklift
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sitting, walking, and standing for long periods of time
  • Reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. safely, without assistance or difficulty and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIROMENT:While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to car exhaust and will be frequently exposed to routine driving hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Please note that you may be randomly drug tested at any time.
Schedule:
  • 20 hours per week with the possibility of picking up additional afternoon shifts
  • 1:30pm-7pm
  • Monday-Thursday
Pay:
  • $23/hour
